Session Location:
TBD, Red Deer AB TBD, Red Deer, AB
About the Session:

School teams (2-5 participants per school) will engage in a community of practice that supports the development of Collaborative Response Model frameworks in their schools. Through a series of four sessions, school teams will dive deep into the Collaborative Response Model, as well as have an opportunity to network with other schools engaging in this framework in their schools. Each day will involve an opportunity for teams to determine next steps to take in their schools.

The initial session will be offered at a location to be determined, with the subsequent three sessions happening in central Alberta schools, with an opportunity for the host school to share what the Collaborative Response Model looks like in their building and answer any questions from school teams.

School team members are strongly encouraged to have attended an introductory Collaborative Response Model session in the past (Envisioning a Collaborative Response Model)
The community of practice content and focus for each session will be responsive to the articulated needs of the participating school teams.

The goals of this community of practice are to:

  • Deepen an understanding of the Collaborative Response Model as it relates to leading schools and establishing structures and processes to respond to the needs of students.
  • Network with a variety of schools and develop a community of practice that can extend beyond the scope of this learning opportunity.
  • Connect to literature related to the Collaborative Response Model to initiate further discussion and exploration
  • Collectively develop and share resources to support Collaborative Response Models in a variety of school contexts, that honours staff and student diversity.
