Who Cares About Formative Assessment?
Presented by: Pat Lore
Friday, March 16, 2018 | 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Session Location:
Central Alberta Regional Consortium 8 Page Avenue, Red Deer, AB
About the Session:

Are you tired of hearing about formative assessment? Why are we still talking about it? Formative assessment is not just about an unweighted category in our grade book, but rather the fundamental way we organize our classrooms. Formative assessment can help guide teachers’ teaching and students’ learning. Who cares about formative assessment? We all should!

About the Presenter(s):
Pat Lore Pat Lore is teacher with Edmonton Public, currently on secondment to the Alberta Assessment Consortium. Over the course of her career she has taught elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, as well as pre-service education students at the University of Alberta and Concordia University College of Alberta. Currently, Pat is away from her classroom, working with teachers and administrators as a field services facilitator with AAC. She passionately believes in the importance of assessment, and its power to support student learning in every classroom.
