Self Regulation in the Early Years

About the Session:

This workshop will focus on how self regulation develops in the early years and how we can support our students to develop these critical life skills. We will discuss the theory and foundation for self regulation along with the latest research in this area. We will learn how to set measurable goals around self regulation. The session will then move towards games and activities that you can use to facilitate the development of these skills early in the elementary years. Aspects from the Zones of Regulation and We Thinkers Social Thinking Curriculum will be incorporated into the day.

About the Presenter(s):
Kari Lotzien

Kari Lotzien is a passionate and creative occupational therapist who has 18 years experience working with children, families and school teams. She has been in private practice for 14 years and is the founder of "To the Stars Occupational Therapy & Wellness Centre in Lacombe AB. To the Stars provides holistic approaches for children and families. Our collaborative approach focuses around sensory processing, regulation and strength based mental and physical wellness.

If you are unable to attend a session and unable to provide three FULL business days’ notice, please feel free to delegate an alternate to attend in your place.
